Port Seton Centre Management Committee is a registered charity SCIO charity SC041476. It is run by volunteers who have an interest in improving the life for the people of Cockenzie and Port Seton and Port Seton Community Centre.
We do this through the provision of educational and recreational facilities and programmes with the objective along with promoting active citizenship and community development through volunteering and participation in the community. We support East Lothian Council with the development of Port Seton Centre’s programme with objectives of reducing inequality, social isolation, improving community infrastructure and resilience.
This is done in various way including providing a community gym, soft play room, community groups and activities.
Other than essential running costs any money we make goes to improving Port Seton Centre and the local community.
In 2010 Port Seton Center Advisory Committee was created and ran until 2014 when it was decided to become a Management Committee and register with OSCR to become a SCIO. This gave Port Seton Centre Management Committee more capacity to benefit Port Seton Centre and the local community including taking on the lease of areas of Port Seton Centre.
Over the years we have supported many groups, projects and organisations through giving out small grants, equipment and volunteer time.
Port Seton Centre is run by trustees who are all volunteers. They are all individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the commuity of Cockenzie and Port Seton. Everyone at Port Seton Centre Management Committee is committed to our mission
